Good day, my name is Andre Wessels. I am a pharmacist by profession, but at heart, I have always been an entrepreneur, a photographer, a conservationist, and, above all, an animal lover. My passion for the natural world has shaped every step of my journey, guiding my choices and inspiring the work I now share with the world.

From a young age, my parents instilled in my siblings and me a belief that would come to define my life: animals and nature are not here for us to exploit — they are here for us to protect. We are caretakers, not owners. The earth does not belong to us; we belong to it. That perspective has never left me, and it continues to fuel every decision I make.

For many years, pharmacy was my calling. I devoted myself to serving people’s health, finding fulfillment in helping others lead better lives. Yet, as circumstances in the profession changed and governmental pressures increased, I felt a growing uncertainty. What initially seemed like a challenge, even a crisis, became a pivotal moment — a chance to realign my life with the values that had always resonated within me.

Rather than surrender to uncertainty, I turned to the one thing that has always given me a profound sense of purpose and joy: the wild. I immersed myself in photography, dedicating countless hours to refining my technical skills, studying light, composition, and storytelling through images. I ventured into game reserves, remote landscapes, and untouched corners of nature, seeking moments that reveal the raw, untamed beauty of life on Earth.

It is in those quiet, early mornings — when the first golden rays stretch across the savanna — that I feel most alive. In the stillness of the bush, I have witnessed the quiet strength of a lion’s gaze, the delicate flutter of a bird in mid-flight, the intricate textures of a leaf glistening with dew. These moments are more than images; they are stories of resilience, survival, and the fragile yet indomitable beauty of our natural world.
